Dipping dear velvet in hot caustic soda within a small unventilated room at Forest Gold honey shed. The room must be adequately ventilated, and the operator to use an appropriate mask and signage to be put in place stating ventilation must be turned on, and PPE (mask, apron, safety shoes, and goggles to be worn) before this work activity is carried out. Stuart initially suggested an occupational hygienist needs to be arranged to conduct workplace exposure monitoring to determine adequate controls for this area, however as this activity is only completed once a year, this is not practical.

Ensure signage and posters are current.
• Remove obsolete signage referencing previous safety legislation.
• Confirm first aiders and PHEC contact list is current.
